Aladdin’s Royal Caravan parade, December 1992 at Disney WorldThis was the first parade ever based off of a single Disney movie.

There were fifty-six parade performers dressed as everything from serfs and rope climbers to acrobats, fire-eaters and even a snake charmer – all to recreate Prince Ali’s grand entrance into the city of Agrabah.

A cast member told me on my last trip that the spitting camels found near the “Magic Carpets of Aladdin” attraction were once part of an Aladdin themed parade the parks had during the 90s. They’re pictured here in their original setting :)

“Santa let Dumbo take the reins of the sleigh in 1979, with Pinocchio acting as interim elf, on his float in the Very Merry Christmas Parade. Of course the jolly old man is there himself, and Winnie-the-Pooh and Mickey Mouse make an appearance of the stuffed variety.”

I miss this a little…

It was my first parade as a “a grown-up” and this song is just amazing *w*

Even if the new parade is really REALLY great
