Elvis Stitch is so adorable.
One cannot talk about the Muppets without taking a moment to mention Jim Henson (it’s actually a legally binding clause in the standard rich and famous contract). Disney’s Hollywood Studios only features one Muppet attraction, MuppetVision 3D. While Jim Henson would not see the attraction debut in the parks, he was still alive and Muppeteering all the way through the film’s principal photography. Here, he can be seen directing Sweetums. This is obviously the scene where Sweetums is showcasing the uses of 3D technology by bouncing his paddleball towards the audience.
A day like today, in 1993
(gosh I’m getting old), the Backlot Theater opened on New York Street at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It debuted The Spirit of Pocahontas, a 28-minute show which was the first Broadway-style theatrical production at Walt Disney World Resort including wind, water and fire effects as part of the dramatic retelling of the story. This 1,500-seat theater was also home to another major productions , Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame – A Musical Adventure.

Breezy Osborne, of the family that started the “Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights” that is now at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, is currently doing an AMA on Reddit.
Super interesting read! I have so much respect for Breezy’s father who started the elaborate light display at their home before it was moved to Disney World.
