Tonight’s fact is somewhat unique, and calls for a different type of introduction…
The Twilight Zones Tower of Terror is one of Disney’s most thrilling rides. At a height of 199 feet tall, the looming building has become a distinctive part of every park which it resides. It is based off of a tribute the great story telling Rod Serling did in his famed television show, The Twilight Zone.- It was reported that during the construction of the Tower in MGM Studio, a flash of lightening actually struck the building like it did in the story of the Hollywood Tower Hotel.
- When choosing a speaker to do the voice of Rod Serling, Imagineers auditioned hundreds of candidates. After narrowing down the bunch the final verdict was made by Rod Serling’s own widow! The man behind the voice is Mark Silverman, and he is a professional impressionist! Pretty impressive?
- Florida’s Tower is so tall it is legally one foot away from being required to abide by air traffic laws. Disney dodged having to put a flashing red light on their building.
